Brice Beckham and The Haunted Hop

From Drama34:

Here's a post-Christmas video featuring Brice Beckham in this hilarious bit from Drama34. Brice has been part of Drama 34 since the beginning, playing a variety of characters and roles, and they've amassed quite a number of hysterical videos which you can see at their official site.

Drama 34 is also reponsible for "I Hate my 30's", which was telecast on VH1, where Brice plays "Corey".

My Amazon.com DVD Review Video

This is a video I wanted to upload to the Mr. Belvedere DVD Listing at Amazon.com. Unfortunately, I had already given a written review, and apparently, they only allow 1 review per person per set, so this video was ultimately rejected. But I didn't want it to go to waste, so I thought I'd upload it here instead.

Ok, this not really a REVIEW, but simply a reaction to the news that the DVD is coming out, with shout outs to SHOUT! Factory, Amazon.com and the fans.

I've already conducted an interview with Rob Stone (Kevin Owens) back in 2003, which can now be read on this blog here.

Official DVD Cover Package Design + Amazon News!

From TVShowsOnDVD!
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Mr-Belvedere-Seasons-1-2-Box-Art/11045

This is the official DVD Cover package design for the upcoming Season 1 and 2 set, on your way this March 17, 2009!

Incidentally, the Mr. Belvedere DVD page on Amazon.com, which has been there for the last couple of years accumulating at the very least 45 requests to have put it on DVD, has disappeared!

Hopefully, this is an indication that an official Mr. Belvedere on DVD release listing is being prepared.

Thanks to archive.org, they saved the original page on their site.

The Shout! Factory Mr. Belvedere Thread

This is the thread on Shout! Factory's forums where much of the discussion on Mr. Belvedere takes place.

Mr. Belvedere
http://www.shoutfactory.com/community/316/thread.aspx

The first set won't be out until March 17, 2009. I'm not sure when they're manufacturing the discs, but if you have concerns/suggestions about it, this is the best forum to put it.

Right now, the main concern of the fans is whether the episodes are original network episodes (uncut) or syndicated prints (cut). Personally, I always prefer the uncut. Not that "uncut" meant anything restricted, but simply the fact that you get everything. Only a fan would really understand.

Ilene Graff on TMZ

Ilyn Graff (Marsha Owens), was recently featured on the popular site TMZ. They have a regular feature called 'Memba Them? which features before and after photos of celebrities. Before was how they looked whenever their shows were popular, and After is how they look today, with updates on what they are doing now.

Ilene was featured on December 2, 2008. Click on the link below:

DVD News 1

I have it on good authority that the Mr. Belvedere DVDs will be issues in SEASONS, and that the first DVD will include both the first season (which has only 6 episodes) and second season.

Key members of the cast, which includes Ilene Graff, Rob Stone and Brice Beckham have already provided interviews for the DVD extras.

More info to come!

Mr. Belvedere on DVD! Official!

Mr. Belvedere is coming to DVD at last! Not a bootleg! Not pirated! This is official!

Shout! Factory has finally snagged the rights to do Mr. Belvedere on DVD. DVD producer for Shout!, Brian Ward posted on the Shout! message boards on December 8, 2008:

"Look for Mr. Belvedere sometime in the New Year."

All right! This is what all you Mr. Belvedere fans have been waiting for. Now even though this is simply an announcement that the DVD is indeed coming, no word yet has been given as to what form the DVD will take. Will it be "Best of" or by Season, will all 6 seasons be released, what bonus features will be there... there's no word yet on that.

But stay tuned!!

New Tracy Wells Photos (March 2008)

There are several new photos of Tracy Wells up at the Internet Movie Database, dated from March 2008. At least one photograph is credited to Marc Cartwright.

See Tracy's new photos here:

Tracy Wells: Branded in the 80's

I just found this awesome site called "Branded in the 80's" created by this guy named Shawn. I really haven't gone around yet to find more Belvedere stuff because the site is just so loaded with really cool 80's stuff. I did find this really great article with scans of a Tracy Wells interview from Stickers and Stuff magazine from 1987. It has large scans of the cover, featuring Tracy, as well as the complete article on Tracy in one page, and another full page with her photo.

Check out the article here:

Thanks Shawn! That's an awesome site!

Mr. Belvedere on DVD Update

No definite word yet at this point if Mr. Belvedere will be coming out on DVD. But Shout! Factory has been working on just this thing, and Shout! Factory executive Garson Foos in their site's message board had this to say about it:

Garson Foos: There could be good news coming up on this one. It's not definite, but a good possibility. June 29, 2008

Well at the very least that is optimistic. This post is 4 months old though, but I for one am not losing hope.

If you haven't yet, you can leave your own endorsement at the Shout! Factory forum here:
http://www.shoutfactory.com/community/316/thread.aspx

And if you have an Amazon.com account, you can make a further endorsement of the show here:

Mr. Belvedere Cast Interview (1989)

This is probably one of the most awesome Mr. Belvedere related video I've seen on You Tube so far. It's an almost 10-minute interview with the entire cast of the show before the start of the 6th and final season.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxeFtr3gyo0

I think Bob Uecker is hilarious here. He makes jokes but he never smiles and that makes it more hilarious. Christopher Hewett also reveals how he got the part of Mr. Belvedere over the others who auditioned for the role.

Thanks to "brockpierce1984" or Robert from the UK for uploading it. I don't know how long it will be up there, but I hope You Tube allows it to stay indefinitely. I hope Robert does to.

In any case, if you have Firefox, you can always download the FLV file with a video downloader plug in.

Bob Uecker Interview (May 2008)

There's a relatively new interview with Bob Uecker (George Owens) where he answers quite a lot of questions about Mr. Belvedere. Here are some exerpts:

Q: Is "Mr. Belvedere" coming to DVD in our lifetimes?
Bob Uecker:
I don't know. I mean, we were on for six years. We were in syndication for a while. It had its run. I still see the people from "Mr. Belvedere" too. We stay in touch. I don't see "Mr. Belvedere" because he passed away a few years ago.

Q: What kind of guy was Christopher Hewett?
BU:
He was great. I had a good time with him. We had a lot of fun on that show. He was one of those guys who was a true actor. Born in Scotland, brought up in England, very proper — which made it work perfectly because I wasn't very proper. I always used to tell him bad things about the queen that used to upset him. I'd make up stuff and get him all upset. It was fun.

Restarting

It's about time I restarted this blog.

This is a companion blog to the Mr. Belvedere site which can be found here:

Mr. Belvedere!
http://geocities.com/mrbeaverfalls

Wow, Geocities. That certainly dates the site. My very first Mr. Belvedere site was located here. Thank goodness for Archive.org. That was way back May 1998. More than 10 years now, hosted at my old Internet provider. I got interested in the show because it was showing on cable at the time. When they stopped showing it, and I got busy with work and other things, I sort of put this Mr. Belvedere thing behind me.

Right now I'm incredibly busy with my work, so I'm stumped why I chose this time of all times, to revisit Mr. Belvedere and put up a blog. I don't know. I guess I *can't* put it behind me. Crazy. Well, more updates soon I guess.
