New Tracy Wells Photos (March 2008)

There are several new photos of Tracy Wells up at the Internet Movie Database, dated from March 2008. At least one photograph is credited to Marc Cartwright.

Tracy Wells: Branded in the 80's

I just found this awesome site called "Branded in the 80's" created by this guy named Shawn. I really haven't gone around yet to find more Belvedere stuff because the site is just so loaded with really cool 80's stuff. I did find this really great article with scans of a Tracy Wells interview from Stickers and Stuff magazine from 1987. It has large scans of the cover, featuring Tracy, as well as the complete article on Tracy in one page, and another full page with her photo.

Check out the article here:

Thanks Shawn! That's an awesome site!

Mr. Belvedere on DVD Update

No definite word yet at this point if Mr. Belvedere will be coming out on DVD. But Shout! Factory has been working on just this thing, and Shout! Factory executive Garson Foos in their site's message board had this to say about it:

Garson Foos: There could be good news coming up on this one. It's not definite, but a good possibility. June 29, 2008

Well at the very least that is optimistic. This post is 4 months old though, but I for one am not losing hope.

If you haven't yet, you can leave your own endorsement at the Shout! Factory forum here:

And if you have an Amazon.com account, you can make a further endorsement of the show here:

Mr. Belvedere Cast Interview (1989)

This is probably one of the most awesome Mr. Belvedere related video I've seen on You Tube so far. It's an almost 10-minute interview with the entire cast of the show before the start of the 6th and final season.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxeFtr3gyo0

I think Bob Uecker is hilarious here. He makes jokes but he never smiles and that makes it more hilarious. Christopher Hewett also reveals how he got the part of Mr. Belvedere over the others who auditioned for the role.

Thanks to "brockpierce1984" or Robert from the UK for uploading it. I don't know how long it will be up there, but I hope You Tube allows it to stay indefinitely. I hope Robert does to.

In any case, if you have Firefox, you can always download the FLV file with a video downloader plug in.

Bob Uecker Interview (May 2008)

There's a relatively new interview with Bob Uecker (George Owens) where he answers quite a lot of questions about Mr. Belvedere. Here are some exerpts:

Q: Is "Mr. Belvedere" coming to DVD in our lifetimes?
Bob Uecker:
I don't know. I mean, we were on for six years. We were in syndication for a while. It had its run. I still see the people from "Mr. Belvedere" too. We stay in touch. I don't see "Mr. Belvedere" because he passed away a few years ago.

Q: What kind of guy was Christopher Hewett?
BU:
He was great. I had a good time with him. We had a lot of fun on that show. He was one of those guys who was a true actor. Born in Scotland, brought up in England, very proper — which made it work perfectly because I wasn't very proper. I always used to tell him bad things about the queen that used to upset him. I'd make up stuff and get him all upset. It was fun.

Restarting

It's about time I restarted this blog.

This is a companion blog to the Mr. Belvedere site which can be found here:

Mr. Belvedere!
http://geocities.com/mrbeaverfalls

Wow, Geocities. That certainly dates the site. My very first Mr. Belvedere site was located here. Thank goodness for Archive.org. That was way back May 1998. More than 10 years now, hosted at my old Internet provider. I got interested in the show because it was showing on cable at the time. When they stopped showing it, and I got busy with work and other things, I sort of put this Mr. Belvedere thing behind me.

Right now I'm incredibly busy with my work, so I'm stumped why I chose this time of all times, to revisit Mr. Belvedere and put up a blog. I don't know. I guess I *can't* put it behind me. Crazy. Well, more updates soon I guess.
